At El Sistema USA we believe that “El Sistema” is more than a philosophy; it’s a conversation. We believe that El Sistema is an on-going inquiry into the most effective ways to achieve the youth development goals that we all share through the rigors and rewards of orchestral music instruction.
El Sistema Oklahoma (ESO) is a non-profit 501(c)3 founded by Cathy and Phil Busey through a creative partnership that includes St. Luke's United Methodist Church and the Wanda L. Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University. These original partners have provided leadership for the success of El Sistema Oklahoma since its inception.
Inspired by El Sistema in Venezuela, El Sistema Oklahoma is a model of how music education can both create great musicians and be used as a tool to transform the lives of children in Oklahoma City.
